Jose, the founder of the eco-garden reserve, was our guide for a sloth tour that was just our family. He was so passionate and so knowledgeable about sloths, medicinal plants, Costa Rican history, and even why the rice is better here than in the us. 🙂 He’s a fabulous guide and the tours here are a must!!
We had so much fun with Jose and saw so many sloths! Within minutes of the tour we saw a sloth eating leaves! So cool to see through the telescope especially when they are moving. Jose really made the tour great, pointing out lots of animals and interesting things about the forest. Super knowledgeable about animals and the forest is well maintained. Love that the forest is run by a family and when you visit you are supporting local efforts to protect Costa Rica’s biodiversity and ecosystems. Make sure to wear or bring bug protection as it is buggy. Definitely recommend booking a tour here!
Showed up at 2pm for the sloth tour with the owner! He was super chill and nice guy. We saw so many sloths! After the tour, Carol (the sweet lady everyone is talking about lol) had agua de sapo for us and cold towels. It was delicious and we learned so much!
Andrey was my tour guide, he was great and had a lot of knowledge and very friendly
Went on the night tour and our guide Carlos did an awesome job finding us multiple sloths, different frogs, and a boa.

Loved this experience and got the chance to see all kinds of wildlife. In addition, our tour guide was amazing and super helpful with a good sense of humor! Our group loved how he could see things no one could and we got amazing pictures from that! Thank you to this wonderful company for helping our EF group have the time of our lives on the night walk tour!

It was very cute and very home made in style. If it was half the price it would be 5 stars. However, it was much smaller and not as well presented as the Bogarin Trail so if you decided to do only one of them, I would definitely pick Bogarin Trail over this one.
